London Fashion Week S/S15

There's something about London Fashion Week that makes the city up its game and prove its fashion credentials.

London is undoubtedly one of the most fashionable places in the world - all year round - but for some reason in September it simply glows.

Obviously Somerset House is a hub of sartorial excellence; with street style off the scale, photographers eagerly snapping anyone striking a vaguely nonchalant pose and celebrities clutching coconut water falling out of an Uber, and being ushered over dangerous cobbles in sky-scrapper heels into the shows. Evidently they put their best fashion foot forward: it'd be foolish not to. But to me it seems as if even those not directly affected by the shenanigans unfolding around them make more of an effort. Beauty is bolder, heads held higher and accessories are sharper and more on point. It's as if the city knows it's on show and without realising everyone sits a little straighter and gets swept up along in the beautiful, ridiculous, chaotic madness.

It might be me reading too much into it, but every street feels like a catwalk and the city just buzzes.

London really is amazing. I absolutely adore the structured white dresses of David Koma and the brilliant, vibrant patterns of Issa. However my ultimate favourite of LFW has to be Peter Pilotto. I love the bright neons and pastels contrasted against sharp black backgrounds, the detailing, and the uneven hemlines. They're looks that will look amazing at premieres and on red carpets and will transfer effortlessly to the high street in the coming months.
