Manicure Monday: Peach Daiquiri

My addiction to Essie is getting a little silly, but given how amazing the polishes are I'm really not bothered!

This year I've been loving contrasting the pastels of Urban Jungle and Fiji on my fingers, with the eye-catching bold shade of Peach Daiquiri on my toes. There's something quintessentially summery about a bright neon pink on my toes as it reminds me of holidays spent languishing on the beach, feet firmly in the sand and a fruity cocktail in hand.

I opted for a bit of a change when I had a pedicure last week and had a pale lilac on my toes, so felt the obvious choice for Manicure Monday this week would be something bright on my fingers. I can't stand being too matchy-matchy with colours, and love bold contrasts between fingers and toes. Peach Daiquiri, therefore, seemed like the perfect choice.

Peach Daiquiri is a bright fuchsia with a subtle orange undertone that stops it from being too pink and really softens the overall effect. It's richer than the other neon pinks in my nail polish collection and I adore the depth of the shade. Make no mistake though, it's really not a peach in colour, so although I love the name it seems a little random! This coral is fun, a little fruity, and really does look fabulous, whether you're actually wearing it soaking up the sun on a beach, or wrapped up in blankets (like me) pretending/wishing that you were. My only gripe is that unlike my other Essie polishes, Peach Daiquiri took 3 coats to finally achieve an even finish, but it's definitely worth it in the end.

Hurricane Bertha might be putting a stop to our fleeting British summer with gale force winds and bouts of torrential rain, but my nails are unapologetically partying in the Caribbean. What more could you ask for in August?!
