Critics' Choice Awards 2014 Best Dressed

Last night saw yet another glittering red carpet in Hollywood, this time for the Critics' Choice Awards at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica. The accolades are awarded by the Broadcast Film Critics' Association (BFCC) and claim to be the most accurate predictor for the Academy Awards - nominations for which were announced yesterday morning.

Matthew McConaughey, Cate Blanchett and Jared Leto continued to dominate in their acting categories, with Lupita Nynog'o winning Best Supporting Actress over last week's Golden Globe-winning JLaw. Gravity, 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle predictably triumphed once more with multiple wins in what is gearing up to be an incredibly close competition. Julie Delpy, Ethan Hawke and Richard Linklater took home the Louis VIII Genius Award for there work on the trilogy Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight; and Benedict Cumberbatch - who seems to be in every film out at the moment - was named Hollywood's Hottest Star.

There were a number of fantastic looks last night, with an unexpected rainbow of colour on the red carpet. In addition, the men really upped their game, with Ian Somerhalder boldly rocking a double-breasted Dolce & Gabbana suit and James Marsden looking flawless in a Ovadia & Sons windowpane check suit. Job well done indeed.

My Best Dressed of the evening was the flawless Amy Adams in this stunning Roland Mouret gown and Neil Lane jewellery. Adams never seems to put a foot wrong on the red carpet but last night she somehow managed to look even more incredible than usual. 11 out of 10.
